Balance from a Previous Bill

Does your previous balance indicate $0.00? If not, there may have been a balance from a previous bill that has carried over to your new statement.

Hint: Look for the bold line labeled Previous Balance listed near the top of the Account Summary section of your bill.

Acct-Bal-Zero

Most Common Cause: If a balance seems high for a single bill, a remaining balance from the previous bill could’ve carried over.

Recommended Action: If you’re unable to pay the entire balance, see if the account is eligible for a Payment Plan. You may also check for Budget Billing eligibility.


Common Cause: A deposit may be assessed to an account due to delinquent payments. The deposit would be listed under Other Charges. If a deposit has been assessed to your account, we have sent you a letter.

Recommended Action: If you’re unable to pay the entire balance, see if the account is eligible for a Payment Plan. You may also check for Budget Billing eligibility.


Common Cause: If a previous payment was unable to be processed, the previous balance is included in the current bill. A fee may be assessed and a possible deposit charged to the account.
